Ok. It’s taken me weeks to finally get to it, but I finally made a quick video showing off Kodansha Kanji Learner’s Dictionary SD card for the Casio XD-GW9600. This is Jack Halpern’s kanji dictionary for English speakers learning kanji.

This does NOT come with the Casio XD-GW9600 but is sold separately as an expansion card.

Many customers have asked how this works in comparison with regular kanji dictionaries. Of course the biggest difference is it gives English meanings of the characters and definitions of all the example sentences. It also displays romaji beside the ‘real’ Japanese. While it doesn’t have as many examples and etymologies as the Japanese kanji dictionaries, it does have an impressive amount of information and of course it is made specifically for English speakers learning kanji.
