Just in case

On the last train we rode yesterday—the last leg of the journey—Makoto, still full of energy, played for almost an hour with his cars.

He had lined up five of his cars, vans, and trucks when Yumi nudged me and showed me what he was doing.  Makoto is very neat and likes his toys lined up, but this time after lining up the cars, he brought out his Monster Truck toy and made it run over the cars like he has seen on TV.

I had never seen him do that before, but the funny part was the only car not in the line up was an ambulance.  It was on the sidelines watching “just in case.”  I didn’t get the monster truck in the picture, but the photo to the right shows the original lineup with the ambulance waiting “just in case.”
