That is ONLY in the J-J unfortunately. But you can easily, hit the ジャンプ button, highlight the word you want to hear, jump to the J-J dictionary, and then press the sound.

Very good. You may want to make a list of the buttons until you get used to them. Knowing simple dictionary kanji like 英 for English, 和 for Japanese, and the katakana words will help a lot.

Having used some of the help from this site (thanks!) and the white rabbit 9600 instructions ive managed to get it working in a basic fashion, though Im probably using 5% of it I reckon. The backlight is great, cant find the jump function yet or the japanese speaking (found the english one OK though) so cant comment on them at the moment, but overall it works very well, recognises my attempts at kanji and has helped a lot already with this when I have been trying to decipher sentences. You can do it in the 漢字源　from option B (...大きな手書き入力から...), which is accessible by pressing the メニュー button, then go to the 国語系 category, Press 'C' for 漢字源, then choose option 'B', the one I mentioned above.
